Wahlberg and the rest of the solid cast sell this ESPN equivalent of a Lifetime movie.. The filmmaking is TV-movie-of-the-week dull and Robinson's ordeal is hammered home to the exclusion of virtually everything else in his life.. There's a sugar coating to the way Papale's story unfolds, but not so much that you'll spoil your dinner.. Condon and his screenwriter Josh Singer don't quite know what to make of this duo, perhaps because the men didn't quite know what to make of each other, either.. ...
