There Be Dragons certainly looks lavish, from the battle scenes to the beautiful period costuming, but it's so stilted and humorless that it's almost campy.. . Bernardo Bertolucci and David Lean used to make movies like this. More, please.. Not unpleasant to watch, but it's another movie in which the art direction and costuming, and, of course, the soundtrack, are of more interest than the story, whatever it is..
