In releasing this reverent, meticulous, fascinating but flaccid history in two lengthy parts, Soderbergh committed perhaps the greatest sin of all. He made Che boring.. Benicio Del Toro, one of the film's producers, gives a heroic performance, not least because it's self-effacing.. . The film's last chapter is arid yet breathtaking cinema, marked by despairing visuals and a climax that withers, not winds, to a close.. In so many ways, Soderbergh's film does the right things, usually by omission....
